PRAYER FOR LOU // Oilgraph performance downtown Los Angeles 2006
In 1997 when I was lecturing on the Oilgraph process, a woman asked, "Well why don't you just do one for us?"
So I did. What began as a dare has now become a regular part of the work. Most performances follow an arc of 10 minutes.
As a general rule, I usually never touch them again. At the end, the works are finished and permanent pieces like all of the rest
and are varnished when the oil has fully cured.
