It is the last look one gives when leaving a funeral. There seems to be no hope. Nicidemus, who Jesus taught by night for fear of his associates, looks down upon the one who taught him. Joseph of Arimathea gazes one last time.

“I remember that night
I came to him
The night covered my fear
and his words like
velvet fire

He spoke
and who I was
never came back
What do those words mean now?
that the world is loved
so much
by God
that he would be given?

The dream is dead
and the world's wind
heaves with ashes”
