I liked the original. I did. I thought it said what it needed to say at the time. It, along with its companion piece POGROM, remained unpainted because I didn't think they needed it.

Then after a couple of years I changed my mind.
I sanded off what little oil paint was on it (can't put acrylic over oil) and hit it again with a couple detonations of gunpowder. Then I painted it today.

I thought about what was asked of this man so many years ago and to what lengths he was willing to go. Few would have. If any at all. It's why he was chosen.
